Construction Engineer, Fluor Canada
Education: Bachelor of Science, Chemical Engineering, University of Waterloo
Jenna Jamani was still a student when she was first hired by Fluor Canada. It was an internship, granted, but upon graduating with a chemical engineering degree from the University of Waterloo, Jamani was immediately hired on by the multinational construction and engineering firm. It was the first step toward where she is now, a construction engineer on the Sturgeon Refinery project. It’s still a rather male-dominated industry, but Jamani relishes the challenge and encourages more women to get into the construction engineering business. In 2013, Jamani was chosen by Fluor to participate in the company’s formal leadership development program, put in place to identify candidates for future company leadership roles.
