Deepwater drilling rules the high seas

The North Sea and offshore Brazil rival the Gulf of Mexico for top spot among deepwater drillers plumbing the ocean’s depths in search of black gold. Political and public anxiety over the now-plugged Macondo well in the GOM has apparently done little to diminish the prevalence of so-called mobile offshore drilling units worldwide, to say nothing of the ever-greater depths the rigs are able to reach.
