Cash strapped populations burn less oil, more biomass

As countries get richer, they transition to more expensive and more efficient forms of energy. While oil and electricity use gets proportionally bigger, gas use stays similar for countries with less than 5 per cent of the population under the poverty line and those with 5-40 per cent under the poverty line.
