AO: So what plans can we expect to see for the NQL product offering?

JT: We will continue to maintain and support all of the existing NQL product lines. Although we will aspire to migrate to one oil-sealed bearing design, one shock tool design, and one drilling jar design as quickly as practical, we recognize that there are a number of NOV and NQL customers who own our tools and who depend on us to provide ongoing service and spare parts. Therefore, we will continue to support these technologies and to work with our customers to mitigate any disruptions as we attempt to transition them to any new developments.

We are also very excited to welcome some new technologies, including the EM/MWD business, the Stabeco Square Motor and Slant Reamer business, and the Prescott mud-lubricated motor business to our portfolio of products. By leveraging NOV’s global infrastructure, customer relationships and access to capital, we expect tremendous growth from each of these product lines.

AO: What impact does climate change have on the service industry and how can that industry contribute to solving climate change’s accelerating pressures?

JT: I believe that we are all becoming much more aware of the impact that our individual and collective actions have on the environment. Whether driven by governmental regulations or an individual company’s sense of community stewardship, oilfield equipment manufacturers and service companies are continually developing, manufacturing and providing new technologies that consider the long-term health of the environment. From new downhole tool technologies that enable the access of multiple wells from a single site, to advanced mud cleaning, waste management and disposal equipment to ensure a reduction in the toxicity of waste that is invariably created in any drilling operation, I believe that the major oilfield equipment and service companies are embracing their responsibility to protect the environment.

AO: Jeremy, thanks for taking the time to speak with us.

JT: No problem. I appreciate it.
